The first domestically produced large caliber 3PE anti-corrosion production line has been put into operation

Recently, China has made significant breakthroughs in the field of pipeline equipment manufacturing. The first external anti-corrosion production line suitable for 1620mm diameter steel pipes independently developed and built by a leading domestic enterprise has been officially put into operation, and the first batch of products has been successfully coated. This marks that China has achieved complete autonomy and controllability in the core anti-corrosion materials and equipment technology of ultra large caliber oil and gas pipelines, breaking the long-standing dependence on foreign technology.
3PE anti-corrosion coating(three-layer polyethylene anti-corrosion) is currently recognized globally as the top external anti-corrosion technology for long-distance oil and gas pipelines, with excellent performance such as high mechanical strength and long corrosion resistance (up to 50 years or more). The 1620mm diameter breakthrough this time is exactly the largest diameter adopted by national energy strategic trunk lines such as the "West East Gas Pipeline" and the "China Russia East Line". The new production line adopts an advanced three-step integrated fully automatic process of epoxy powder electrostatic spraying, adhesive extrusion winding, and polyethylene extrusion winding, ensuring the uniformity, adhesion, and no leakage of the coating on the ultra large pipe body. The technical standards have reached the international leading level.
The commissioning of this production line will directly serve national key projects such as the planned construction of the southern section of the China Russia East Line and the fourth West East Gas Pipeline, greatly improving pipeline construction efficiency, reducing procurement and maintenance costs, and ensuring the long-term safe and stable operation of the national energy artery from the source. It is a key link in helping to build a "national network" modern energy system.
